New work for Asset International/ PLANADVISER July/August 2012.  About recordkeeping platforms for retirement plans.  Whenever I think about my retirement, something about getting older always makes me think of mermaids.  Actually retirement makes me think of death, but having Charon as a metaphor for recordkeepers/guides was inappropriately morbid and more than a bit obvious.  There’s a body of water in this one, so I still kept part of that idea.  I really liked the other two sketches as well, which are mostly Jataka tales.  Heavy on the mythology for this project.  SooJin says that illustrators are always trying to draw monkeys—a bad business-metaphor. I actually may end up drawing the snapping turtle one up for my own purposes.  They make me think of home—I have so many stories from elementary school about people whose cousins lost fingers/toes/limbs to snapping turtles.  Thank you SooJin!
